`Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says that` when the solar eclipse occurred, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed (two rak‘ahs of prayer) with eight bowings (ruku‘) and four prostrations (sajdah).
