Mukhtasar Muslim

Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! The son of Jud'an used to maintain ties of kinship during the time of ignorance (i.e., he treated his relatives well) and fed the poor. Will these deeds benefit him (on the Day of Resurrection)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These deeds will not benefit him at all because he never said, 'O my Lord, forgive my sins on the Day of Resurrection.'"
