Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a believer is like a soft plant in a field; the wind bends it, sometimes it lays it down and sometimes it makes it stand upright, until it withers. And the example of a disbeliever is like a pine tree, which stands straight on its root, nothing bends it until it is suddenly uprooted. In another narration, it is stated: The example of a believer is like a crop which the wind sometimes lays down and sometimes makes stand upright, until it ripens and is ready. And the example of a hypocrite is like a pine tree, standing straight, and nothing affects it.
