Aswad bin Qais says: I heard from Sayyiduna Jundub bin Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him), he said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became ill and did not get up for two or three nights. Then a woman (A’warā bint Harb, the sister of Abu Sufyan, the wife of Abu Lahab, the carrier of firewood) came and said, “O Muhammad! I think your devil has left you (this she-devil said mockingly), because I see that he has not come to you for two or three nights.” Then Allah Almighty revealed this Surah: “By the morning brightness, and by the night when it covers with darkness, your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased.”
