Mukhtasar Muslim

Saeed bin Jubair says: I said to Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), "Surah At-Tawbah?" He said, "Surah At-Tawbah?" And he said, "Rather, that Surah is the one that humiliates and exposes (the disbelievers and hypocrites). In this Surah, it kept being revealed: 'And among them,' 'And among them,' until the hypocrites thought that none would be left whose mention would not be made in this Surah." I said, "Surah Al-Anfal?" He said, "That Surah is about the Battle of Badr (in it are mentioned the rulings of war booty)." I said, "Surah Al-Hashr?" He said, "That was revealed about Banu Nadir."
