It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The Dajjal will emerge and a man from among the Muslims will go towards him. On the way, he will meet the armed men of the Dajjal. They will ask him, "Where are you going?" He will reply, "I am going to the one who has appeared." They will say, "Do you not believe in our master?" He will say, "Our master is not hidden." The people of the Dajjal will say, "Kill him." Then they will say among themselves, "Our master has forbidden us to kill anyone until he is brought before him." Then he will be taken to the Dajjal. When he sees the Dajjal, he will say, "O people! This is the very Dajjal about whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) informed us." The Dajjal will order his people, and he will be struck on his head, back, and stomach. Then he will say, "Seize him and split his head open." Then the Dajjal will ask him, "Do you not believe in me (i.e., in my divinity)?" He will say, "You are the false Messiah." Then the Dajjal will order, and he will be sawn from his head down to his two feet, until he is split into two pieces. Then the Dajjal will stand between the two pieces and say, "Stand up." The man will (come to life and) stand up straight. Then he will be asked, "Do you now believe in me?" He will say, "I am even more certain that you are the Dajjal." Then he will say to the people, "O people! Now the Dajjal will not be able to do this to anyone else besides me (i.e., he will not be able to burn anyone else)." Then the Dajjal will seize him to slaughter him, but from his throat to his collarbone, he will become as if made of copper, and the Dajjal will not be able to slaughter him. Then he will seize his hands and feet and throw him away. People will think that he has been thrown into the fire, but in fact, he will be thrown into Paradise. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: This man is the greatest martyr in the sight of Allah, Lord of the worlds, among all people.
