Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) narrated to us a long hadith regarding the mention of Dajjal, and in it he also stated that it will be forbidden for him to enter the mountain passes of Madinah, and he will come to a rocky land near Madinah. Then a man will go to him who will be the best among the people, and he will say: I bear witness that you are indeed the Dajjal whose mention the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made in his hadith. Dajjal will say to the people: Tell me, if I kill him and then bring him back to life, will you have any doubt about this matter? They will say: No. Dajjal will kill that man and then bring him back to life. So when he brings him back to life, the man will say: By Allah! I was not as sure about you before as I am now. (That is, now I am certain that you are the Dajjal.) Then Dajjal will want to kill him again but will not be able to. The narrator Abu Ishaq said: This man is Khidr (peace be upon him). (But this is not proven; rather, the evidence indicates that Khidr (peace be upon him) has passed away.)
