Narrated from Sayyiduna Nafi that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: I met Ibn Sayyad twice. The first time I met him, I said to the people, "You used to say that Ibn Sayyad is the Dajjal?" They said, "No, by Allah." I said, "By Allah! You have called me a liar. Some of you have narrated to me that he will not die until he becomes the wealthiest and most prosperous among you, and today he is just like that." He says, then Ibn Sayyad talked to us. Then I parted from Ibn Sayyad. He says, when I met him again, his eye was swollen. I said, "Since when has your eye been like this, as I am seeing?" He replied, "I do not know." I said, "The eye is in your head and you do not know?" He said, "If Allah wills, He can create an eye in this stick of yours." Then he made a sound like a donkey braying loudly. Nafi said that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar went to Umm al-Mu'mineen (Hafsa, may Allah be pleased with her) and related this incident to her. She said, "What do you have to do with Ibn Sayyad? Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The first thing that will bring out the Dajjal to the people will be his anger (i.e., anger will bring him out)?"
