Qais bin ‘Abad says: I asked Sayyiduna ‘Ammar bin Yasir (and ‘Ammar bin Yasir was on the side of Sayyiduna ‘Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, in the Battle of Siffin), “The fighting you did (on the side of Sayyiduna ‘Ali, may Allah be pleased with him), was this your own opinion or did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say anything to you about it? If it was an opinion, then opinions can be correct or incorrect.” So Sayyiduna ‘Ammar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not say anything to us that he did not say to the general people.” And Sayyiduna ‘Ammar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Indeed, in my Ummah (the narrator of the hadith, Shu’bah, says: I think he said that Sayyiduna Hudhayfah narrated to me, and another narrator, Ghundar, says he did not say the words “Hudhayfah narrated to me”), there will be twelve hypocrites who will neither enter Paradise nor smell its fragrance until a camel enters the eye of a needle. Eight of them—a single boil (abscess) will be enough for you (i.e., it will be the cause of their death), that is, a lamp of fire will appear on their shoulders and will come out breaking through their chests.’ (That is, in that boil there will be a burning coal as if a lamp has been placed in it. May Allah protect the Muslims. Ameen.)
