Hadith 1934

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: A man had never done any good deed. When he was about to die, he said to his people: (After my death) burn me and turn me into ashes, then scatter half of the ashes in the forest and half in the sea. By Allah! If Allah finds me, He will punish me with such a punishment as He has never inflicted on anyone in the world. When that man died, the people did as he had said. Allah Almighty commanded the forest, so it gathered all the ashes. Then He commanded the sea, so it also gathered them. Then Allah said to that man: Why did you do this? He replied: O Allah! You know very well that I did this only out of fear of You. So Allah Almighty forgave him.
