Mukhtasar Muslim

Safwan bin Muharriz says that a man asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), "What have you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the private conversation?" (Meaning, when Allah Almighty will privately converse with His servant on the Day of Resurrection.) He said, "I heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he used to say: The believer will be brought close to his Lord on the Day of Resurrection, until the Lord will place His arm over him and make him confess his sins and will say, 'Do you recognize your sins?' He will say, 'O Lord! I recognize them.' The Lord will say, 'I concealed these sins for you in the world, and today I forgive them for you.' Then he will be given the record of his good deeds. But as for the disbelievers and hypocrites, a public announcement will be made before all creatures: 'These are the people who lied against Allah Almighty.'"
