Mukhtasar Muslim

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin ‘Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would lie down on his bed, he would say: “O Allah! In Your name I live and in Your name I die.” And when he would wake up (from sleep), he would say: “All praise is for Allah, Who gave us life after causing us to die (i.e., after sleep, because sleep is also a kind of death), and to Him is the resurrection or return.”
