Narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that marks appeared on the hands of Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) due to grinding with the millstone. And prisoners (slaves) came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). She came. Not finding the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), she met Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) and told her about this situation. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived, Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) informed him about the visit of Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her). Hearing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to us, and we had already gone to our bedding. We tried to get up, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Stay in your place." Then he sat between us (that is, between me and Sayyidah Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her) until I felt the coolness of his feet on my chest. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Shall I not tell you both something better than what you have asked for (i.e., a servant)? When you both lie down (to sleep), say 'Allahu Akbar' thirty-four times, 'Subhan Allah' thirty-three times, and 'Alhamdulillah' thirty-three times. This is better for you than a servant." In another narration, it is added that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Since I heard this from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), I have never abandoned it." He was asked, "Even on the night of Siffin?" He replied, "Yes! Even on the night of Siffin (I did not abandon it)."
