Issues of Menstruation
Menstruating woman does not make up prayers, but makes up fasts.
Hadith 180

Narrated from Sayyida Mu’adhah (may Allah be pleased with her):
I asked Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), “What is the reason that a menstruating woman makes up the missed fasts but does not make up the missed prayers?” She replied, “Are you a Haruriyyah?” I said, “No, I am only asking.” She said, “We used to experience menstruation, and we were ordered to make up the fasts, but we were not ordered to make up the prayers.” (What an excellent answer: religion is the name of following the commands of Allah and His Messenger; what was commanded, we did, and what was not commanded, we did not do.)
