‘A’ishah Siddiqah, Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her), says: When I was in i‘tikaf, I would go home for a need, and as I walked, if there was anyone sick in the house, I would ask about them. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would stay in the mosque and extend his head towards me, and I would comb his hair. And when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in i‘tikaf, he would not enter the house except for a need.
