‘Mother of the Believers, Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out in the morning and he was wrapped in a cloak on which there were designs of camel saddles or pots. In the meantime, our master Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) came, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took him under the cloak. Then our master Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) came, so he was also included in it. Then Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) came, so she was also included with them. Then our master Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came, so he was also included, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah only wishes to remove impurity from you, O people of the household, and to purify you thoroughly.” (Al-Ahzab: 33). (This does not mean that the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) are not his household, as is the belief of the Shia; rather, in reality, the household primarily refers to the wives, as the context of the verse also indicates. Along with them, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also included Ali, Fatimah, and Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them all).)
