Hadith 1653

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at a certain time during the day, and neither did he speak to me nor did I speak to him (that is, we walked in silence), until we reached the market of Banu Qaynuqa. Then he returned and came to the house of Sayyidah Fatimah al-Zahra (may Allah be pleased with her) and asked, "Is the child here? Is the child here?"—meaning he was asking about Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him). We thought that his mother had kept him back to bathe him, clean him, and put a fragrant necklace on him, but shortly after, he came running, and the two embraced each other (that is, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Sayyiduna Hasan, may Allah be pleased with him). Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! I love him, so You love him, and love the one who loves him."
