Mukhtasar Muslim

Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Qais that I asked Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) about the Witr of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), then she narrated the hadith (regarding Witr). I asked, "What would the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do in the state of janabah? Would he perform ghusl before sleeping or would he sleep before performing ghusl?" She said that he (peace and blessings be upon him) did both; sometimes he would perform ghusl and then sleep, and sometimes he would perform wudu and then sleep. I said, "All praise is due to Allah who has provided flexibility in this matter."
