‘Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we went with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) towards Najd for jihad. We found him in a valley where there were many thorny trees. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted under a tree and hung his sword on a branch, and the people dispersed in the valley seeking shade separately. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that a man came to me while I was sleeping; he took down the sword, and when I woke up, he was standing over my head. I realized when the naked sword was in his hand. He said, “Who can save you from me now?” I said, “Allah!” Then he said the same thing a second time, and I said, “Allah, the Exalted.” Hearing this, he put the sword back in its sheath. That man is sitting here. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did not say anything to him.
