Mukhtasar Muslim

Narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him for food. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him half a wasq of barley (a wasq is sixty sa’). Then that man, his wife, and his guest kept eating from it, until the man measured it. Then he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you had not measured it, you would have continued to eat from it and it would have remained as it was (because by measuring it, their trust in Allah was lost and impatience was shown, so the blessing was gone).
