'Sayyiduna Wathilah bin Al-Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: Allah, Glorified and Exalted be He, chose Kinana from among the descendants of Sayyiduna Isma’il (peace be upon him), and chose Quraysh from among Kinana, and chose Banu Hashim from among Quraysh, and chose me from among Banu Hashim.'
