Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: I saw in a dream that I was migrating from Makkah to a land where there are date-palm trees. My assumption went towards Yamamah and Hajar, but it turned out to be Madinah, whose name is also Yathrib. And in that same dream, I saw that I shook a sword and it broke from the top. Its interpretation turned out to be the defeat of the Muslims on the day of Uhud. Then I shook the sword a second time and it became as strong and good as before from the front. Its interpretation was that Allah the Exalted granted victory and the group of Muslims was established (meaning after the battle of Uhud, Khaybar and Makkah were conquered and the army of Islam gained strength). And in that same dream, I saw cows (that were being slaughtered), and Allah the Exalted is better (as this phrase is said: Allah is better). By this were meant those Muslims who were martyred at Uhud, and by "goodness" was meant the goodness that Allah the Exalted sent after that, and the reward of truthfulness that Allah the Exalted granted us after Badr.
