Umm al-Mu'mineen Safiyyah bint Huyayy (may Allah be pleased with her) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was in i'tikaf. I came to visit him at night. I spoke with him, then when I stood up to return, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) also stood up with me to see me off, and my house was in the dwelling of Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him). On the way, two men from the Ansar met us. When they saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), they began to walk quickly. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Wait, this is Safiyyah bint Huyayy." Both of them said, "Subhan Allah, O Messenger of Allah!" (meaning, could we ever think ill of you?) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Satan flows through the human body like blood, and I feared that he might cast an evil thought into your hearts (and thus you would be ruined because of it)."
