Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Avoid sitting in the pathways. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! We are compelled to sit in our gatherings and talk." So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you must do so, then fulfill the rights of the pathway. They asked, "What are the rights of the pathway?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Lowering the gaze, not causing harm to anyone, responding to greetings, enjoining good, and forbidding evil.
