Mukhtasar Muslim

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Wa'il (may Allah be pleased with him) that Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) was extremely strict regarding the matter of urine, to the extent that he used to urinate in a bottle and would say that among the Children of Israel, when urine touched anyone's body, he would cut off the skin (with scissors). Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that I wish Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) would not have been so strict, for I was walking with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he came to a garbage dump (i.e., a place for rubbish), and stood behind a wall just as any one of you stands, then urinated. I moved away, but he signaled to me to come closer, so I stood by his heels until he finished urinating. In another narration, it is added that then he performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks.
