Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Abu Humayd Sa‘idi (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I brought a bowl of milk from Naqi‘ to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), which was not covered. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Why did you not cover it? (If you had nothing to cover it with,) you could have placed a stick across it. Abu Humayd (the narrator of the hadith) says: We were instructed to tie up the water skins and close the doors at night.
