Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the graveyard and said, “Peace be upon you, O abode of the Muslims, and if Allah wills, we shall join you. I wish that we could see our brothers.” (From this hadith it is known that it is permissible to wish for good things, such as meeting scholars and virtuous people.) The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) said, “O Messenger of Allah! Are we not your brothers?” He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “You are my companions, and our brothers are those who have not yet come into the world.” The Companions said, “O Messenger of Allah! How will you recognize those people of your ummah whom you have not seen?” He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Suppose among you someone has a horse with a white forehead and white legs among black horses, will he not recognize his horse?” The Companions said, “Indeed, he will recognize it.” He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “On the Day of Resurrection, my ummah will have radiant faces and radiant hands and feet because of ablution, and I will precede them at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar. Beware! Some people will be driven away from my Hawd just as a stray camel is driven away. I will call them, ‘Come, come!’ At that time it will be said, ‘These people changed (their ways) after you (or their condition changed, they became involved in innovation and oppression).’ Then I will say, ‘Go away, go away.’”
