Permissibility of keeping hunting and guard dogs.
Hadith 1243

Narrated by Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog, unless it is for hunting or for guarding livestock, then two qirats of his reward will be reduced every day. (One qirat is said to be a reward equal to the mountain of Uhud.)
