Mukhtasar Muslim

Sayyiduna Mujashi‘ bin Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I brought my brother Abu Ma‘id to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) after the conquest (of Makkah), and I said, “O Messenger of Allah! Take his pledge for migration.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Migration has already been completed along with the emigrants.” I said, “Then on what will you take his pledge, O Messenger of Allah?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “On Islam, jihad, and goodness.” Abu ‘Uthman said: I met Abu Ma‘id and mentioned to him what Mujashi‘ had said, so he said, “Mujashi‘ has spoken the truth.”
