Sanabahi narrates from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that I went to him when he was near death. I began to weep, so he said, "Wait, why are you crying? By Allah, if I am made a witness, I will bear witness for you (regarding faith), and if my intercession is of benefit, I will intercede for you, and if I have the power, I will benefit you." Then he said, "By Allah, there is no such hadith that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and in which there was good for you, except that I have conveyed it to you. However, there is one hadith which I have not narrated until now; today I narrate it because my soul is about to depart. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever bears witness (that is, believes in his heart and declares with his tongue) that there is no true deity except Allah and indeed Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah, then Allah will make the Fire of Hell forbidden for him (that is, to remain in Hell forever, or the level of Hell in which the disbelievers who will remain forever are placed)."
