It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave a verdict based on an oath and one witness. (This is in the case when there are not two witnesses. If there is one witness, then the claimant should take an oath along with him.)
