It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Burdah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "No one should be beaten with more than ten lashes except in one of the limits prescribed by Allah."
