Mukhtasar Bukhari

Narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The hand of a thief should be cut off for stealing a quarter of a dinar or more."

Narrated from Ummul Momineen Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that in the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the hand of a thief was not cut off for stealing less than the price of a shield or armor (and each of these items is of value).

Narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had the hand cut off for stealing a shield whose price was three dirhams.
