Hadith 2144
`Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says:` I went to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and at that time he was sitting in the shade of the Ka'bah, saying: "By the Lord of the Ka'bah! Those people are in great loss, by the Lord of the Ka'bah! Those people are in great loss, by the Lord of the Ka'bah!" I thought (perhaps the Prophet, peace be upon him, was addressing me), so I asked, "What have I done? What action of mine have you seen?" Then I sat down. The Prophet (peace be upon him) kept repeating the same words, and I could not remain silent, and Allah knows the distress and grief that overcame me at that time. I asked again, "Who are those people, may my parents be sacrificed for you?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Those who possess much wealth, except those who spend it like this, and like this, and like this (i.e., in front, to the right, and to the left in the way of Allah), and they are few."

Hadith 2145
Narrated Abdullah bin Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him): We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and he was holding the hand of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him). Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! You are dearer to me than everything except my own self." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "No, O Umar! By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, (your faith will not be complete) until I am dearer to you than your own self." Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Indeed, now you are dearer to me than my own self." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "O Umar! Now your faith is complete."
