Hadith 1987
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him): I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) while he was sleeping, dressed in white clothes. Then after a short while, I came again and he was awake. At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever says the statement 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah) and dies upon it, will certainly enter Paradise." I asked, "Even if he committed adultery and theft?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Even if he committed adultery and theft." I asked again, "Even if he committed adultery and theft?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Even if he committed adultery and theft." I asked a third time, "Even if he committed adultery and theft?" The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, "Even if he committed adultery and theft. (And) may Abu Dharr's nose be rubbed in dust." (Meaning, even if Abu Dharr dislikes it.) And whenever Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this hadith, he would (proudly) say, "May Abu Dharr's nose be rubbed in dust."
