Hadith 1928
Narrated Salama bin Al-Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever among you offers a sacrifice should not keep any of its meat after three days (rather, he should distribute all of it).” And when the next year came, the people said, “O Messenger of Allah! Should we do as we did last year (distribute all the meat)?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “(No! Rather) eat, feed others, and store some. Last year, people were in hardship, so I wanted you to help them in that way. (Now there is no such need).”

Hadith 1929
`Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him)` led the prayer on the day of Eid al-Adha, then addressed the people and said: O people! The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade fasting on these two Eid days. The first Eid is the day of breaking your fasts, and (the second) is the day of eating the meat of your sacrifices.
