A father or guardian cannot marry off a virgin or previously married woman without her consent.

Hadith 1848
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A widow should not be married without her permission, nor should a virgin be married without her permission." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How is the permission of a virgin?" He (peace be upon him) said: "Her silence is her consent."
Hadith 1849
Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! A virgin girl feels shy." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Her silence is her consent."
