Hadith 1732
Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): Some people asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" ... and he narrated the entire hadith which has already been mentioned (see the Book: Matters of Prayer... Chapter: The Virtue of Prostration...). Then he said: "When the Day of Resurrection comes, a caller will announce: 'Let every person go with that which he used to worship.' So none of those who worshipped other than Allah will remain; all will go with their deities, idols, and objects of worship and fall into Hell, until only those remain who used to worship Allah. Among them will be righteous and sinful Muslims, and some remnants of the People of the Book. First, the Jews will be called and it will be said to them: 'Whom did you worship?' They will say: 'We worshipped 'Uzair (peace be upon him), the son of Allah.' It will be said to them: 'You have lied; Allah has neither a wife nor a son. Now, what do you want?' The Jews will say: 'O our Lord! We are thirsty, give us water to drink.' Then it will be pointed out to them: 'Will you not fall into the Fire?' At that moment, all of them will rush eagerly towards the Fire, as if the Fire is water (that will quench their thirst), and they will fall into it. Then the Christians will be called, and they will also be asked: 'Whom did you worship?' They will say: 'We worshipped the Messiah, the son of Allah.' It will be said: 'You have lied; Allah has neither a wife nor a son.' Then it will be said: 'Now, what do you want?' They will say the same as the Jews said, and they will fall into it just as they did, until none remain except those who worshipped Allah alone, whether from the righteous or the sinners; they will remain. At that time, Allah will appear to them in a form resembling the one they had seen before, but it will not be the same form, and it will be said to them: 'What are you waiting for? For every nation has gone with its deity.' They will say: 'In the world, when we needed those misguided people, we kept away from them and did not join them; we are waiting for our true Lord, whom we used to worship.' So Allah will say: 'I am your (true) Lord.' They will say: 'We do not associate anyone as a partner with Allah.' They will say this two or three times."
