‘Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) came on foot to visit me in the locality of Banu Salamah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw that I was lying unconscious, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for water, performed ablution, and then sprinkled the water over me. I regained consciousness. I submitted, “O Messenger of Allah! What do you command regarding how I should distribute my wealth?” At that time, this verse was revealed: “Allah instructs you concerning your children...” — the entire verse.
