Hadith 1662
´Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that` when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out in the year of the conquest of Makkah, this news reached the Quraysh. Abu Sufyan bin Harb, Hakim bin Hizam, and Budail bin Warqa set out to gather information about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). As they walked, when they reached the place of Marr az-Zahran (which is near Makkah), they saw that many fires were lit, just as they are at Arafah. Abu Sufyan said, “What are these fires? These fires everywhere make the place look like the plain of Arafat.” Budail bin Warqa said, “It must be the fire of Banu Amr (Khuza’ah).” Abu Sufyan said, “Banu Amr do not have so many people.” Meanwhile, the guards of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw them and captured them, bringing them to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Abu Sufyan accepted Islam. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out, he said to Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), “Stand Abu Sufyan at the mountain pass so that he may see the army of the Muslims.” Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) made him stand there, and the tribes that were with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began to pass by Abu Sufyan, tribe by tribe. When one army passed, Abu Sufyan said, “O Abbas! Who are these people?” He replied, “This is the tribe of Ghifar.” Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “There was no enmity between me and Ghifar (then why have they come with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) against me?)” Then the tribe of Juhainah passed, and Abu Sufyan said the same as before. Then the tribe of Sa’d bin Huzaym passed, and Abu Sufyan said the same, and the tribe of Sulaym passed, and Abu Sufyan said the same thing. Then a tribe passed the like of which Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) had not seen before, so he asked, “Who are these people?” Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, “These are the Ansar, their leader is Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him), and the flag is with him.” Then Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Abu Sufyan! Today is the day of the killing of the disbelievers, today the Ka’bah will become lawful (i.e., the killing of the disbelievers in it will be permissible).” Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Abbas! Indeed, the day of destruction has come.” Then an army came which was smaller than all the other armies, among them was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his companions, and the flag of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was with Sayyiduna Zubair bin Al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him). When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him), Abu Sufyan said, “Do you not know what Sa’d bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) has said?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, “What did he say?” Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, “He said such and such.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Sa’d has spoken incorrectly, rather today is the day that Allah will honor the Ka’bah, and it is the day that the Ka’bah will be adorned with a covering.” (Urwah) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the flag to be planted at the place of Hajun. So Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Zubair bin Al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him), “O Abu Abdullah! Did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) order you to plant the flag at this place?” (Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) said that) the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered Sayyiduna Khalid bin Walid (may Allah be pleased with him) to enter from Kada’ (with a fatha on the kaf) from the elevated side of Makkah, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself entered from Kada’ (with a kasrah on the kaf) from the lower side. From the army of Sayyiduna Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him), two horsemen, Hubaysh bin Ash’ar and Kurz bin Jabir Fahri (may Allah be pleased with them both), were martyred that day.

Hadith 1663
Narrated Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him): On the day of the conquest of Makkah, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) riding a camel and reciting Surah Al-Fath in a pleasant tone. (Muawiyah bin Qurrah, the student of Abdullah bin Mughaffal) says: If I had not feared that people would gather around me, I would have recited in the same pleasant tone as Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) recited to us.

Hadith 1664
Narrated Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Makkah on the day of the conquest of Makkah, and at that time there were three hundred and sixty idols around the Ka'bah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) struck those idols with a stick in his hand and kept saying: "Truth has come and falsehood has vanished." Truth has come; now falsehood will neither be renewed nor will it return.
