Hadith 1629
Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Banu Qurayza came down from their fortress agreeing to the decision of Sa'd bin Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent someone to Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him). He came riding on a donkey. When he approached the mosque, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the Ansar, "Stand up for your leader or your elder (i.e., help him dismount)." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (to Sa'd, may Allah be pleased with him), "These disbelievers have come down to your decision (what do you decide about them?)." Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Those among them who are capable of fighting should be killed, and their children and women should be taken captive." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You have given the same judgment as Allah's command, or as the command of the King (i.e., Allah)."
