Hadith 1602
Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said (on the day of Badr): "Who will look for Abu Jahl and bring me news of him?" So Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both) went and found him (in such a state) that the two sons of 'Afra had beaten him so much that he was dying. Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "Are you Abu Jahl?" and grabbed his beard. He (Abu Jahl) said, "Is there anyone greater than the man you have killed?" or he said, "Is there anyone greater than the man whom his own people have killed?"

Hadith 1603
Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered that on the day of Badr, the corpses of twenty-four leaders of the Quraysh be thrown into one of the dirty and impure wells of Badr. And whenever the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prevailed over a people, he would stay at that place for three nights. So when it was the third day at Badr, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave the order, and his camel was saddled for him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) set out, and his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) followed him. They thought that perhaps the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was going for some task, until he stood at the edge of that well and began to call them (the disbelievers of Quraysh) by their own names and the names of their fathers, saying: "O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! O so-and-so, son of so-and-so! Would it not have been better for you now if you had obeyed Allah and His Messenger? Indeed, we have found true what our Lord promised us. Have you also found true what your Lord promised you?" Sayyiduna Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) says that then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), are you speaking to bodies in which there is no soul (present)?" So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! You do not hear what I am saying any better than they (the disbelievers) do."
