Hadith 1441
Narrated by Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "When the Dajjal appears, he will have both water and fire with him. But what people will consider to be fire will actually be cool water, and what people will consider to be cool water will actually be burning fire. So whoever among you encounters this time, let him fall into what appears to be fire, for in reality, it is cool, sweet water."

Hadith 1442
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "(Among the people before you) there was a man who was about to die. When he lost hope in his life, he instructed his family that when I die, gather a lot of wood, then light a fire (and put me in it). When the fire eats my flesh and reaches my bones, and the bones are also burnt and become coal, then take the bones and grind them well. Then, on the day when a strong wind blows, keep watching, on that day scatter the ashes in the river (some will spread in the air and some in the sea)." His family did as he had instructed. Then Allah Almighty gathered his entire body and said to him: "Why did you do this?" He said: "O Lord, out of fear of You." Then Allah forgave him."

Hadith 1443
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he said: "The people of Israel were governed by prophets. Whenever a prophet died, another succeeded him. But there will be no prophet after me; however, there will be caliphs and they will increase in number." The companions asked, "What do you command us to do at that time?" He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Fulfill the pledge of allegiance to the first caliph and then to the one who comes after him. Continue to fulfill their rights (of obedience). Surely, Allah will question them on the Day of Resurrection about how they fulfilled the rights of their subjects."

Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: "You (Muslims) will surely follow the ways of those before you, span by span and cubit by cubit, so much so that if they entered the hole of a lizard (which is extremely narrow), you would also enter it." We asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Are the previous people meant the Jews and Christians?" He (peace be upon him) replied, "Who else?"

Hadith 1448
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “There were three men among the Children of Israel: one was a leper, one was bald, and one was blind. Allah wanted to test them, so He sent an angel to them. The angel came to the leper and said, ‘What do you wish for?’ He replied, ‘A good complexion and good skin, for people dislike me in this condition.’ The angel touched him, and his leprosy was cured, his complexion became good, and his skin became healthy. Then the angel asked, ‘Which wealth do you like most among the worldly possessions?’ He said, ‘Camels,’ or he said, ‘Cows’—Ishaq bin Abdullah, the narrator, was uncertain whether the leper or the bald man had asked for camels and the other for cows. So he was given a pregnant she-camel of ten months, and the angel said, ‘May Allah bless you in it.’
Then the angel came to the bald man and asked, ‘What do you wish for?’ He said, ‘Good hair, so that this baldness may go away, for people dislike me.’ The angel touched him, and his baldness disappeared, and he got beautiful hair. Then the angel asked, ‘Which wealth do you like most in the world?’ He said, ‘Cows.’ The angel gave him a pregnant cow and said, ‘Allah will bless you in it.’
Then the angel went to the blind man and asked, ‘What do you wish for?’ He said, ‘That Allah restores my eyesight so that I may see people.’ The angel touched his eyes, and Allah restored his sight. The angel asked, ‘Which wealth do you like most?’ He said, ‘Goats.’ The angel gave him a pregnant goat.
Then the camels, cows, and goats multiplied, so the leper had a valley full of camels, the bald man had a valley full of cows, and the blind man had a valley full of goats.
Then (the same angel), in the same form and appearance as before, came to the leper and said, ‘I am a poor man, all my provisions for the journey are gone, and I cannot reach my destination except with Allah’s help and then your generosity. I ask you, by the One who gave you a good complexion, good skin, and wealth, to give me a camel so that I may reach my destination on my journey.’ The leper replied, ‘There are many debts (upon me).’ The angel said, ‘It seems I recognize you. Were you not a leper, whom people disliked, and you were poor, and Allah granted you all this?’ The leper said, ‘I inherited this wealth from my forefathers.’ The angel said, ‘If you are lying, may Allah return you to your former condition.’
Then the angel, in the same form and appearance, went to the bald man and said to him what he had said to the leper, and he gave the same reply. So the angel said, ‘If you are lying, may Allah return you to your former condition.’
Then the angel, in the same form, went to the blind man and said, ‘I am a poor and traveling man, and I have no provisions left for my journey. I cannot reach my homeland except with Allah’s help and your generosity. I ask you, by the One who restored your eyesight, to give me a goat so that I may reach my destination on my journey.’ The blind man said, ‘Indeed, I was blind, and Allah gave me sight; I was poor, and He made me wealthy. (Since you ask) in His name, take whatever you wish, for today I will not stop you from taking anything.’ The angel said, ‘(I am not in need), keep your goats. Allah has tested you three; He is pleased with you and displeased with your two companions (the leper and the bald man).’”

Hadith 1449
Narrated by Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): He said, "There was a man among the Children of Israel who had killed ninety-nine (99) people (unjustly). Then (feeling remorseful) he set out to ask about the matter, so he came to a monk (priest) and asked him, 'Can my repentance be accepted?' He replied, 'No.' So the man killed that priest as well. Then he continued to ask about the matter until another man (another priest) told him, 'Go to such-and-such a town.' On the way, death overtook him. (As he was dying,) he turned his chest towards that town. Now the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment began to dispute over him. So Allah Almighty commanded (the town) to which he was going (for repentance) to come closer to him, and commanded the town from which he had left to move farther away from him. Then He said to the angels, 'Measure the distance between the two towns from where he died.' It was found that he was a handspan closer to the town he was heading for repentance, so he was forgiven."

Hadith 1450
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "A man bought a house from another man. The one who bought it found a pot full of gold in that house. He said to the seller, 'Brother, take your pot, for I bought the house from you, not the gold.' The seller replied, 'I sold you the house and everything in it.' So both of them disputed and went to a third person. He asked, 'Do you have any children?' One said, 'I have a son,' and the other said, 'I have a daughter.' He said, 'Marry the two of them to each other and spend the gold on both of them and also give charity.'"

Narrated from Sayyiduna Usama bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him): He was asked, "What have you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the plague?" Sayyiduna Usama (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The plague is a punishment that was sent upon a group from the Children of Israel, or (he said) upon people before you (the narrator is unsure). So when you hear that it has broken out in a land, do not go there, and when it breaks out in the land where you are, do not leave from there with the intention of fleeing."

Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about the plague, so he (peace be upon him) said: "The plague is a punishment; Allah sends this punishment upon whom He wills, and Allah has made it a mercy for the Muslims. When the plague spreads somewhere and a Muslim remains in his town with patience and seeking reward, and does not flee, believing that only what Allah has decreed for him will befall him, then he will receive the reward of a martyr."
