Hadith 1384
Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that (on one occasion) magic was done on the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (the effect of which was) that he (peace be upon him) would think he had done something, although he had not done it. Eventually, one day he (peace be upon him) made supplication and prayed a lot. After that, he (peace be upon him) said (to me): “Do you know that Allah has informed me of the matter in which is my cure? Two men came to me, one sat by my head and the other by my feet. Then one of them asked the other, ‘What is the illness of this man?’ The other replied, ‘Magic has been done on him.’ He asked, ‘Who has done magic on him?’ The other said, ‘Labeed bin A’sam (the Jew).’ He asked, ‘In what (thing)?’ The other said, ‘In a comb, hair, and the outer skin of a male date palm’s cluster.’ He asked, ‘Where is it?’ The other said, ‘In the well named Dharwan.’” So the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) went there. When he returned from there, he (peace be upon him) said to Umm al-Mu’minin Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her): “The trees near that (well) are as if they are the heads of devils.” (Aisha Siddiqa, may Allah be pleased with her, says) I asked, “Did you have it taken out?” He (peace be upon him) replied, “No. Allah has cured me, and (in having it taken out) I feared that it would cause mischief among the people (and the talk of magic would spread more).” After that, the well was closed.

Hadith 1385
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Satan comes to one of you and says (i.e., puts a whisper), 'Who created this?' and 'Who created that?' until he says, 'Tell me, who created your Lord?' So when it comes to this point, that person should recite 'A'udhu billah' (I seek refuge with Allah) and abandon such satanic thoughts."

Hadith 1386
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) pointing towards the east and saying, "Trials and tribulations will emerge from this direction, trials and tribulations will emerge from this direction, from where the horn of Satan appears."

Hadith 1387
Narrated by Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace be upon him) said: "When the darkness of night falls, keep your children inside the house, for at that time the devils spread out. When an hour of the night prayer (Isha) has passed, then let the children go (to walk around). And close your door by saying 'Bismillah' (in the name of Allah), and extinguish your lamp by saying 'Bismillah' (i.e., extinguish every kind of fire), and cover your water vessel (pitcher, cooler, underground tank, etc.) by saying 'Bismillah'. If you do not find anything to cover it with, then place a stick or something similar over it."

Hadith 1388
Sayyiduna Sulaiman bin Surad (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was sitting with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and two men were abusing each other. One of them's face turned red with anger and his veins swelled. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "I know a supplication, if this person recites it, his anger will go away. If he says: 'A'udhu billahi minash-shaytanir-rajim' (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil), his anger will depart." So the people said to that person that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has said this, so seek refuge with Allah from the devil! He said: "Am I mad (that I should seek refuge from the devil)?" (Perhaps this person was an ignorant villager or a hypocrite, so he did not accept this advice.)
