Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Free the captive, feed the hungry, and visit the sick." Hadith 1302
Sayyiduna Abu Juhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), "Do you have any revelation besides the Book of Allah?" He said, "No, by Him who split the grain (and brought forth the tree from it) and created the soul: I do not know of anything else, except for an understanding that Allah gives to a person in (understanding) the meanings of the Qur'an, and whatever is in this scroll." I asked, "What is in this scroll?" He said, "It is about blood money (diyah), the responsibility of the 'aqilah (the male relatives who pay blood money), the freeing of captives, and that no Muslim should be killed in retaliation for a disbeliever."
