Hadith 1226
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates in one narration that (in the Battle of Khandaq, the Muhajirun and Ansar used to) say: "We are those who pledged allegiance to Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the condition that as long as there is life in our bodies, we will continue to strive (in jihad)." So the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) would reply to them: "O Allah! True goodness is only the goodness of the Hereafter, so bless the Muhajirun and the Ansar."

Hadith 1227
Narrated Al-Bara' bin 'Azib (may Allah be pleased with him): I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) on the day of the Battle of Ahzab carrying earth, and the dust had covered the color of his stomach, and he was saying: "O Allah! If it were not for You, we would not have been guided, nor would we have given charity, nor prayed. So send down tranquility upon us, and make our feet firm when we meet the enemy. Indeed, those people have rebelled against us. Whenever they intend mischief, we do not obey them."
