Hadith 1152
Narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said to Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him): "O my nephew! Indeed, we would see one crescent, then see the next crescent, and in this way, in two months, we would see three crescents (i.e., two full months would pass), and no fire would be lit in the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." (That is, no food would be cooked.) Urwah says: I asked, "O Aunt! Then how did you live?" She replied, "On two things: by eating dates and drinking water. However, yes, some Ansar lived near the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and they had some milk animals, and they would send their milk (as a gift) to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he would also give us to drink from it."
