Hadith 1140
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), "Which deed is the best?" He (peace be upon him) replied: "To have faith in Allah and to strive in His path." I then asked, "Which kind of slaves' emancipation is the best?" He (peace be upon him) replied: "Those slaves who are of high value and are most beloved to their owners." I asked, "What if I am unable to do that?" He (peace be upon him) replied: "Help someone who is working, or teach some work to an unskilled person." I asked, "What if I am unable to do even that?" He (peace be upon him) replied: "Then refrain from harming people, for this too is a charity that you give to yourself."
