Hadith 1131
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) says that (on one occasion) the people’s provisions ran low and they became needy, so they came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) to seek permission to slaughter their camels. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) granted them permission. Then (the Commander of the Faithful) Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) met them and they informed him of this. He said, “After your camels are gone, how will you survive?” They then went back to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “O Messenger of Allah! After the camels are gone, how will they survive?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Announce among the people that they should bring their remaining provisions.” A leather mat was spread out for this, and all the provisions were scattered over the leather. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and supplicated, and requested blessing from the Lord of the worlds for it. Then all the people were called with their vessels. The people began to take handfuls with both hands, until everyone had left. After that, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “I bear witness that there is no true deity except Allah, and I am the Messenger of Allah.”

Hadith 1132
Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the people of the Ash'ari tribe run short of provisions during a campaign, or when the food of their families in Madinah becomes scarce, they gather all their possessions in one cloth and then distribute it among themselves equally with a single measure. So, they are from me and I am from them."
