The hadith of Sayyiduna Ash'ath (may Allah be pleased with him) has already been mentioned earlier (see the Book: Statement regarding Musaqat... Chapter: Disputing over a well and its judgment...). In one narration, it is said that he was a Hadrami, and in another narration, it is mentioned that he was a Jew with whom Sayyiduna Ash'ath (may Allah be pleased with him) had a dispute.
